Vietnam

Vietnam is registering prodigious growth. But is it growth at the expense of the environment? This book shows that need not be the case. It documents and appraises a three-week DSE seminar which was staged in Germany in summer 2000 for planning and investment experts from Vietnam. Presenting them with lots of practical examples from Germany, it showed how infrastructure investment and environmental protection can go hand in hand. Both the seminar – which was organised in cooperation with the UN Environment Programme – and the book are valuable aids for crafting practical sustainable development.
