Sustainable economic development and global growth presuppose qualified people and competent institutions. Access to knowledge is increasingly becoming the key to development and growth. Technological know-how, corporate knowledge and management qualifications are the central success factors for achieving the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals, the transformation of planned economies into market economies and ensuring that international firms are competitive.
Cooperation with the business community at home and abroad is therefore strategically important to Inwent. Our capacity building programmes also offer the German business community many advantages; They promote international competitiveness and contact to foreign executives.
Inwent’s largest programme to promote economic cooperation with German companies, especially small and medium-sized firms, is the Manager Training Programme commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). In 2007 500 executives from the business communities of Russia, Ukraine, White Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan participated in the programme. Designed to support "training for partnership", it encourages business development between those foreign firms who send their employees to Germany and the German firms themselves. It will soon be offered in additional nations. In 2007 the BMWi signed new agreements with four other countries, among these China and Vietnam. Since 2006 Inwent has also coordinated a manager training programme on behalf of the Russian government for young German executives in Russia.
Inwent’s international leadership training programmes (ILT) are especially designed for participants from developing and transition countries. On-the-job training in German firms creates contacts from which the German business community also benefits. Firms can increase their product recognition abroad, and initiate contact with Inwent alumni in different countries who are have the necessary skills and speak German. Skilled experts and executives in developing and transition countries with direct contact to German firms open completely new market opportunities and fresh possibilities for international trade.
The growing internationalisation of companies increases demand at all levels for intercultural skills and mobility. Germany is not excluded from this development. Employees need experience abroad and to be sensitive to intercultural issues if they are to lead international teams or conclude successful foreign business deals. This is why Inwent promotes expert know-how and international decision-making and management skills in its exchange and promotional programmes. Participants learn the language and about the culture of their respective host country. They also develop important personal contacts to companies abroad. These programmes sometimes address trainees and students. Inwent also prepares young professionals who have completed their training for the demands of firms with worldwide activities via custom-tailored on-the-job training. The programme is directed at interested people from a wide variety of disciplines and branches. Our most important clients are the federal government, the federal states, international organisations and foundations with close ties to the business community.
Inwent’s Training Centre for International Cooperation (V-EZ) provides qualifications to experts and executives who work abroad. Our range includes intercultural management, languages, conflict prevention and promoting peace along with corporate consulting services and participation.
