North America in general, and the USA in particular, continue to top the list of places German experts and executives go to acquire international language skills, intercultural skills and work experience in international teams. But the reverse is also true: There is great interest in the USA in practical experience gained abroad in Germany. Germany is a world export leader centrally located in Europe and serves as a hub between east and west, which makes it very attractive to young North Americans.
More than 1,000 participants from Germany and the USA take part each year in Inwent’s practice-oriented USA programmes. Most alumni go on to take an active roll in Inwent’s international networks.
In addition to expert information programmes for professionals on important transatlantic topics such as renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, urban development, public transport or immigration/integration, Inwent also offers a wide selection of options for young professionals, trainees, young employees, students and recent graduates.
Our North America programmes receive support from the German Bundestag, the US Congress, the Federal Foreign Office, the United States Embassy, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, and the Carl Duisberg Stiftung für internationale Bildung und Zusammenarbeit. In the USA Inwent works with CDS International, the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest Inc., Chicago, Harvard University, Texas Christian University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Minnesota and Ohio State University.
