Inwent’s Intercultural Training and Service Centre is in Saarbrücken in the state of Saarland. The centre welcomes programme participants from abroad and offers courses that explore Germany and intercultural seminars to prepare them for work-study experience in Germany. The Regional Centre Saarland also encourages contact between experts and executives from Central and Eastern Europe and the Saarland business community.
Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America are the areas the Regional Centre Saarland addresses with its capacity building programmes. In cooperation with the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (HTW), we offer quality management training programmes in engineering. These programmes receive support from the Saarland Ministry for Economics and Science both financially and in subject matter.
The Regional Centre Saarland runs the business end of the International Foundation Programme of the University of Applied Sciences. In so doing, Inwent provides an important service required by the Saarland University Act. The Saarland International Foundation Programme offers advising services to university applicants from abroad, verifies their educational certificates and organises preparatory courses to fulfil university entrance requirements.
Development policy issues must be brought to the attention of the population as a whole, even in a small country like Germany. In its "Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation" series, the Regional Centre Saarland offers events that address topics and specific countries, encouraging exchange between non-governmental organisations, firms and associations. Our largest development-related educational programme thus far was initiated by the Saarland Ministry of Economic. In cooperation with other organisations, we managed the fair-trade campaign that introduced the "Saarbonne" Saarland coffee brand.
