The Development Policy Forum (EF) is a main communicating platform for German development policy in the international arena. It is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The various measures undertaken by the EF serve in the conceptual design, further development and presentation of German and international positions on development policy.

Its activities target groups comprising political decision makers, opinion builders, experts, industry and civil society representatives from the industrial, transformation and development countries, and international organizations.

The EF’s priorities, in terms of topics, are derived from the strategies adopted by German development policy. The EF’s program of conferences provides a special contribution in those areas where it has a comparative advantage and there is a need for action In realizing its goals, the EF employs a number of diverse conference formats: International Policy Dialogues, International Workshops and specialist development policy discussions.

The EF team is located in Berlin.
