The main purpose of the seminar is to empower journalists in their daily workload to cope with ethical dilemmas which occur in a quickly changing media landscape. Background knowledge will be imparted as well as practical hints for everyday's work in the newsroom.
The programme will be conducted in co-operation with the Ghana Journalists Association.
The programme is open to journalists from print and online media.
Journalists from the following countries may apply: Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Sénégal, Sierra Leone
Applicants should
have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience with strong interest in media ethics
be proficient in English (the course and all exercises will be conducted in English)
be under 35 years old
be given paid leave for the duration of the course
Women journalists are particularly encouraged to apply.
