Urban Development

In Africa, Asia and Latin America, InWEnt is promoting the establishment and operation of sustainable urban infrastructure systems within the framework of integrated urban development concepts. This takes the form of further training for (junior) executives, consultancy services, international dialogue and the establishment of global knowledge networks, which support North-South and South-South cooperation. We cooperate closely in this with UN-HABITAT.

Our contributions target primarily the following fields:

  • Consultancy services on organisational development and sector strategies
  • Building the management competence of urban infrastructure enterprises
  • Promoting public-public and public-private cooperation in the construction and operation of infrastructure systems
  • Developing solutions for water supply, sanitation and solid waste management and for urban traffic systems
  • Strategies to supply appropriate basic infrastructure in poor urban areas
  • Popular participation in planning and urban management
  • Modern information systems for urban planning and management
  • Preventive environmental protection and energy efficiency
